$8M state highway realignment in South Waikato
This State Highway 1 project, contracted for $8M between 1994 and 1996, required construction of 5 km of new and 1km of existing road realignment. This involved 800,000 m3 of earthworks, a significant portion of which was moisture sensitive.
A partnering approach to addressing/minimising weather related delays was used to reach agreement with the client to source more imported materials thereby minimising delays to the completion date.
The company developed a high public profile through recruiting locally and the use of local suppliers.
