HSE Officer and mine team meet compliance objectives – Sarah’s first 6 months

Based at Reddale opencast coal mine near Reefton, Sarah was part of the Doug Hood crew on this important project.
Sarah rejoined Doug Hood Mining Ltd (DHML) mid-year, having previously worked on the company’s project at Stockton opencast mine from 2008 to 2009.
As Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer, Sarah’s role was to ensure that the company’s HSE obligations were met completely & consistently by supporting & monitoring the implementation of the site Contract Management Plans.
DHML Operations Support Manager Andrew Jaspersmith, based at the company’s head office in Christchurch, said that the site team collectively achieved excellent results on this new project for Solid Energy, & that Sarah thoroughly & enthusiastically raised the bar with these crucial components of opencast mining.
